Tanzania's Southern Circuit
While Tanzania's Northern Circuit draws most visitors, the Southern Circuit offers equally impressive wildlife viewing with far fewer crowds. This less-traveled region includes Mikumi National Park, Ruaha National Park, and the Selous Game Reserve (now officially known as Nyerere National Park), providing authentic safari experiences in vast, unspoiled wilderness areas.
The Southern Circuit is perfect for travelers seeking a more exclusive safari experience away from the tourist crowds. These parks are home to abundant wildlife including elephants, lions, giraffes, hippos, and rare wild dogs, set against diverse landscapes from open savannahs to riverine forests.
