Called the "Whiskey Route" because it is considered more difficult at the top than the Marangu Route. Passes through the cloud forest, Shira Plateau and Lava Tower, and has beautiful views.

Umbwe Route

The most difficult trek on Kili - for more experienced trekkers. Offers wonderful views. Little-used route because of the difficulty level, so provides relative sense of isolation.
Rongai Route

The Rongai Route is one of the easiest routes and has very few people on it.

Ass Guide $20 per day

Tips should not be dependent on whether you summit or not but rather whatever they were professional and and had your best interests in mind. If your guides and porters have not met your expectations please inform Kili Hike & Safari at the office immediately and don't feel obligated to give a tip. If they press you for a tip during your trek inform Kili Hike & Safari as well as this is against company policy.
PTM can supply some required equipment (sizes permitting) such as: Mountain boots, Balaclava, Sleeping bag, Long inner wear, Walking Sticks, Gloves, Water Bottle. If you don't have all equipment for the Mountain simply inform us and if we have you may use it. Otherwise, we can arrange equipment rental at very reasonable prices.
For groups of 5 or more, significant discounts are available.
